Alan is a founding director and Managing Director of Group Colleges Australia. As Managing Director he is responsible for the corporate planning and governance of the group of companies. Group Colleges Australia incorporates two Registered Training Organisations, five colleges, offering  accredited pathway courses including English Language, Vocational Education, and Higher Education.

Alan is an entrepreneur, innovator and businessman with over thirty years experience in the technology and education industries. He has twenty years experience as a Company Director with private, public and NFP companies. He has been active in representing the industry and is a former Director of the national Vocational Training industry representative body. Alan was a Board Member of a national Higher Education Industry representative body ,COPHE, resigning after four years in 2016.Prior to a career in education Alan had a career in the ICT industry working for Digital Equipment Corporation followed by establishing a start up software company. Alan has presented talks on entrepreneurship and the education industry.Alan is a Justice of the Peace and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is the published author of an autobiography that details a ten year legal battle where he represented himself from the local court in North Sydney to final victory in the High Court of Australia: “When There Are Too Many Lawyers… There Is No Justice.” Book reviews and media interviews go to www.alanmanly.com.au.

Alan has presented talks on entrepreneurship and the education industry from the view point of a company director and entrepreneur. Alan is a Justice of the Peace and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
